Famous for: First woman to win an Olympic event. Specifically, the chariot race. She claimed victory in 396 BC and again in 392 BC, breaking all barriers in Ancient Greece.
Note: Chariot races in the ancient Olympics featured four-horse teams, known as quadrigas.
