Lived: c. 440–380 BC, Sparta, Greece

Known for: Spartan princess and Olympic champion

Famous for: First woman to win an Olympic event. Specifically, the chariot race. She claimed victory in 396 BC and again in 392 BC, breaking all barriers in Ancient Greece.
